LOcation: Glen Arbor,Temecula

Some sessions just feel different from the moment you arrive, and Marina and Corbin's engagement session at Glen Arbor in Temecula was one of those. I knew within the first five minutes of watching them together that this was going to be a golden one — pun very much intended.

Golden Light, Golden Love

We timed the session for that perfect stretch before sunset, when the trees at Glen Arbor start catching the light just right and everything turns soft and warm. As the sun dropped lower, it filtered through the branches and wrapped around Marina and Corbin like it knew exactly what it was doing.

With so many favorite parts of this session wasn't even about the photos — it was hearing the story behind Marina's ring.Corbin told me he just couldn't pick one stone. Marina loved the style of one, but she was drawn to the color of another, and instead of settling for just one or the other, he decided she didn't have to choose. So he had both set into her ring. Two stones, one ring, made entirely around the things she loves.

It's such a small detail, but it says so much about him — the kind of person who pays attention, who noticed exactly what lit her up, and who found a way to give her all of it instead of picking for her. That's the kind of love story I love photographing.

The trees, the natural light, the quiet, tucked-away feel — it's easy to just exist there and let the moments happen naturally, which is really all you want from a session like this.
